Minimum Qualifications (All Ranks):

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Applicants should have a MD, MD PhD, PhD or equivalent in medical physics or a related field.

  • Proven experience and broad knowledge of medical imaging, PET radiopharmaceuticals (diagnostic and therapeutic), grant funding and federal regulations governing research use of radiopharmaceuticals and imaging.

Preferred Qualifications (All Ranks):

  • Applicants should have a history of successful project management, organization and record keeping skills, and in working successfully in managing and developing interactive teams that include researchers, clinicians, hospital staff and administrators engaged in the development and use of advanced imaging techniques for research and clinical care.

  • Current personal grant funded research which will utilize the resources of the CU Research Imaging Center is desired, as is teaching experience in an academic institution

The Department of Radiology has an opening for a full-time faculty member to serve in the capacity as Director of the CU Research Imaging Center on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The successful recruit will be responsible for strategic as well as operational aspects of the CU Research Imaging Center. These aspects include overseeing center budget and operations, promoting Center utilization by meeting with interest groups and researchers, facilitate research projects, developing and reviewing all center operational protocols, working with equipment representatives and the onsite GE physicist to maintain high level functionality of the equipment. Additionally, you will oversee and evaluate center personnel, work with third-party vendor personnel to ensure timely access to, and pricing for research radiopharmaceuticals, work with third-party vendor personnel to enhance participation in phase 2 and 3 clinical trials of novel research radiopharmaceuticals, facilitate access, scheduling and scanning of potential clinical patients, and balance research versus clinical patient utilization of the facility. Successful recruit will become a faculty member of the Department of Radiology.

The starting salary range () for this position has been established as PhD: $150,000 - $225,000 MD: $300,000 - $400,000 MD PhD: $300,000 - $400,000 For MD positions, salary will be commensurate with the proportion of their clinical FTE. The above salary range () represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
