Job Description:
MaineGeneral is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to work in Augusta, Maine. This position is ideal for someone interested in providing psychiatry services while working in collaboration with a primary care medical team. The PMHNP will function as a clinical leader, providing direct patient care and serving as a resource for other staff in guiding decision making, implementing treatment plans and improving comprehensive quality of care. This full-time position involves 32 hours of patient-seeing time, with an additional eight hours dedicated to administrative work.
The PMHNP will:
provide psychiatric evaluations and determine diagnoses
prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
work collaboratively with case management, counseling and primary care medical staff
have the opportunity to be involved with either individual or group-based MAT treatment services
