University of Maine System Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Residence in Augusta, Maine

Statement of the job: UMA Counseling Center is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, staff, and faculty. The Clinical Counselor in Residence provides direct in-person and remote clinical services to UMA students through short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals. This unique role combines traditional clinical counseling responsibilities with residential life involvement, providing essential support to our student population while fostering a positive and engaging living environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related discipline

  • Ability to provide required on-call coverage and live in UMA residence hall

  • Clinical counseling license eligible

Preferred:

  • Experience working with college students or in an educational setting

  • Awareness of student development stages for both traditional-age and non-traditional-age students

Salary: The normal hiring salary range for this position is in the low to high $50's and is commensurate with training, education, and experience and will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion. The cost of housing in Erskine Hall or designated hall will be included in the compensation package.
