Position Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of payroll processing and related customer service support to employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments. This role includes collaborating with department managers, timekeepers, and Human Resources staff to verify attendance, compute wages and deductions, and resolve payroll discrepancies. The Payroll Specialist will assist in compiling employee time and payroll data, entering it into the payroll system, distributing paychecks, and preparing year-end tax forms, while also maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and performing other assigned duties as needed.
Essential Functions :
Assists in checking the accuracy and processing of payroll on a bi-weekly and monthly basis, addressing all payroll-related issues
Compiles employee time and payroll data from timesheets and other records, including garnishments, benefits, and 401(k) deductions, while verifying attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments
Computes wages and deductions, enters data into the payroll system, and reviews and submits timesheets for completeness and accuracy
Contacts employees and managers for missing time and timesheet approvals every pay period and reviews timesheets and wage computations to detect and reconcile discrepancies
Distributes paychecks each pay period and responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related issues, resolving discrepancies promptly
Provides information to employees and managers on payroll matters and tax issues, and assists in preparing year-end tax forms, including W-2s
Assists in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to adhere to policies and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned
Maintains confidentiality of employee information and payroll records in accordance with company policies and regulations
Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications :
Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred; 7 years of experience in lieu of a college degree
High attention to detail with the ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
Proficient in business systems and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude and customer focus
Team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience with Workday, ADP, and Human Resources is highly desirable
Workday Certification preferred
Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
