Golder has a new opportunity for an Environmental Scientist to join our Contaminated Sites team on a full-time basis based in New Zealand .

Our Contaminated Sites team in Australia and New Zealand has a strong reputation for delivering on technically complex solutions for our clients. Our clients have come to rely on Golder's Contaminated Sites team to advance sophisticated, ethical, and fit for purpose solutions on budget to a broad range of projects in land remediation, waste, and environmental issues, this has created the opportunity for us to seek two Environmental Scientist and/or Environmental Engineers from Project level professionals to Senior, to work in our Contaminated Sites portfolio or projects.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Project and financial management of small to large sized contaminated site projects.

  • Conducting contaminated sites investigations and remediation programs.

  • Performing environmental due diligence assessments.

  • Interpretation and reporting of analytical data.

  • Preparation of proposals and high-quality technical deliverables.

  • Build client relationships through regular contact with existing and new clients.

  • Supervise and provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff.

  • Work together with senior colleagues to achieve project and business goals.

  • Provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Have a mature and enthusiastic attitude with project management experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience within an Australian and/or New Zealand environment, thorough understanding of relevant legislative and statutory frameworks and guidelines on Environmental matters

  • Range of expertise and skills in advising our broad range of global and local clients to meet their needs in the investigation, assessment, and remediation of contaminated sites (both land and water) and their strategic needs around land use and waste management.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to articulate complex contaminated land issues simply or clearly for a range of audiences.

  • Working knowledge of current Commonwealth contaminated land legislation and guidance.

  • Ability to display personal leadership in completion of work tasks
