Annual Salary Range: $89,000 -$98,000 plus an estimated additional ROA annual compensation of $25,000,000-$28,000 based on division performance.
Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Auburn is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Product Metallurgist. The responsibilities of this position include helping with process and product development, leading quality improvement efforts, leading training efforts, using statistical process control tools to direct continuous improvement activities, working closely with operations and maintenance teams and participating in safety and housekeeping efforts providing metallurgical guidance at the order entry process, coordinating trials with customers, providing production capability to customers, providing customer feedback to production, providing product recommendations to customers, coordinating customer specification review, participating in the development of new products. This position will work with customers as well as the sales group to ensure a thorough understanding of customer requirements and to work proactively on projects that add value to our customers. This position will assist with investigations of technical claims submitted by customers and work with the operating departments to find the root cause of technically accepted claims . Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with customer order inquiries, technical specifications, and complaint resolution.
Experience with customer and supplier interactions.
Experience in the steelmaking industry
