Westminster Manor NURSERY CARE PROVIDER in Auburn, New York

PURPOSE To oversee and supervise the nursery care program available to children three 3 years of age and younger on Sunday mornings. To provide childcare during special worship services and programs as needed. STATUS OF POSITION The Nursery Care Provider is a part time employee of the Westminster Presbyterian Church Auburn, NY generally working 3 hours per week.
The Nursery Care Provider is responsible to the Pastor Head of Staff and the Childrens and Youth Ministry Coordinator.
The Nursery Care Provider is approved by the Session upon the recommendation of the Pastor Head of Staff, the Childrens and Youth Ministry Coordinator, and the Personnel Committee. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE NURSERY CARE PROVIDER Arrive at the time designated by the Pastor Head of Staff and the Childrens andY outh Ministry Coordinator to open and prepare Rooms 108 to 109 to receive children each Sunday or for special worship services i.e., Longest Night, Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday. Maintain an attendance register so that the names of all children and their parents are known. Assign duties to the volunteer assistants scheduled for a given Sunday as needed. Make a note of any special instructions or information provided by parents relative to any child left in the nursery. Leads implementation and adherence to WPCs Child Youth vulnerable Adult Protection Policy. Notify the Pastor Head of Staff, the Childrens and Youth Ministry Coordinator and the parents or guardians immediately of any problem which may affect the care and well being of any child. Maintain housekeeping in the nursery toddler room to prevent injuries due to slips, falls, etc., and to ensure cleanliness of the rooms used. Close the nursery toddler room after all children have been picked up. Advise the Pastor Head of Staff and the Childrens and Youth Ministry Coordinator or the Administrative Assistant of any supplies that are needed or require replacement. First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation AED Certification is a requirement. Attends regularly scheduled Staff Meeting as called by the Pastor Head of Staff. QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in the care and supervision of young children. Ability to relate to infants and young children. Professional training as a nurse, teacher, etc. is preferred but not required. Ability to handle basic personal hygiene problems of infants.
