Job Overview
Qualifications
The Electrical Prototype Build Engineer will be responsible for managing all electrical prototype build activities including developing and communicating build plans based on vehicle specifications, test plans, and program timing as well as reviewing and understanding wiring designs and wiring schematics. This Engineer will also lead multiple teams to assure all program deliverables are met and resolve any issues affecting build quality, engineering design, manufacturing process, and timing.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer/Computer Science or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university
1 year of Engineering experience
Basic Vehicle build process knowledge.
Strong Leadership and Communication skills
Fluent in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable with preparing presentations and presenting to all levels of management.
Ability to read and analyze digital communications data (CAN/LIN/Ethernet)
Extensive knowledge and hands on use of CDA, CAN, CANalizer, Canoe, and other Electrical root cause tools. CAN/BUS expert, System, and Hardware expert
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Ability to use electrical debugging tools such as digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, and current probes
Desire to work on vehicles and in a test environment (hands-on)
Experience with Matlab and Simulink tools
Experience with dSPace ASM simulation tool or equivalent
Team-building and leadership skills, organizational excellence, and goal/target-minded discipline
Proven problem-solving skill set
Understanding of prototype vehicles and Plywood Buck builds
