TSM Corporation has an opening for the position of Manufacturing Support Engineer (Ref# MSE99AVV).
Work Location: 1175 N. Opdyke Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326.
Job Duties: Assist in the execution of new manufacturing projects, product changes, continuous improvement activities, and new project launch. Responsible for prototype and preproduction part trials. Provide various types of support for ongoing engineering projects with the company. Responsible for design for manufacturing (machining and assembly). Involved in customer engineering data and change management/implementation. Perform 3D model manipulation. Responsible for packaging design, packaging instructions, and operation instructions. Act as foundry engineering liaison. Collaborate on product technical requirements, cost optimization opportunities, and design constraints and changes. Validate casting design from suppliers. Review customer technical information related to Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and communicate to internal personnel and suppliers to ensure conformance. Track overall timing and costs on assigned programs, including design changes. Create BOM (Bill of Materials) for quote opportunities, to be used by internal departments for costing. Cooperate with purchasing team to review supplier proposals and ensure technical conformance and support supplier problem solving efforts as assigned. Communicate appropriate information with manufacturing engineering personnel for new programs to ensure continuity. Develop packaging for finished product, internal process, outside processing, rough product, and components.
Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years in a related occupation including Project Engineer, Product Engineer, or related experience. Position requires 3 years of experience with engineering change management/implementation and BOM (Bill of Materials). 40hrs/week.
