THE POSITION
Manager Technical Project, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI:
Drive engineering teams to deliver automotive product releases on time, ensuring releases meet the maturity requirements of the project at each phase. Resolve complex technical issues that span engineering functional disciplines. Provide one face to customer and R&D leadership for all project technical content. Manage R&D budget (tracking, reporting, steering). Report out to management and escalate when necessary. Perform configuration management for required documentation. Develop and maintain project engineering deliverables (bill of material, technical risk analysis, development timing) throughout the life of project. Ensure proper SOR (start of release) and EOR (end of release) planning, execution and documentation.
Telecommuting permitted up to 40%.
Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Computer or Software Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in automotive product design and development.
Must have 7 years of experience in each of the following:
- Product launch and introduction requirements;
- Automotive PPAP (pre production approval process);
- Technical Project Management processes and methods;
- Engineering Principles, such as problem-solving techniques (e.g. 8D, 5why, fishbone), design techniques, worst case analysis, or validation/verification methods; and
Providing technical direction to engineers.
Must have 3 years of experience in Automotive SPICE.
Must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:
- Requirements Engineering methods and tools (e.g. DOORS); and
- Development of automotive safety products.
