AMI Contracting Machinist in Auburn Hills, Michigan
Sets up and operates CNC lathes or mills to perform a series of machining operations such as turning, boring, threading, and facing, on metal workpieces by performing the following duties.
Job Description:
- Ability to use Computer Systems to, but not limited to, the following tasks:
- Read and send E-mail
- Check inventory
- Select and print Set-up packages for jobs
- Operates lathes, mills, and grinders as required.
- Machine Set-up.
- Reads blueprint, tooling instructions, and standard charts for such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions such as type of holding fixtures, cutting speeds, feed rates, and cutting tools to be used.
- Moves controls to set specified rotation speeds, feed rates, and depth of cuts.
- Verifies conformance of machined workpieces to specifications.
- Mills as required.
- Grinds as required.
- Computes such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, feed rates, and machining times.
- Works with the Tool Control System.
- Follows all quality systems.
- Follows all procedures.
- Follow all OMF Industries, Local, State, Federal, MIOSHA, OSHA, and DEQ Safety and Environmental Policies,Procedures, and Regulations.
