Engineered Materials Solutions Wastewater Treatment Operator - Grade 3 in Attleboro, Massachusetts
EMS is looking for a Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team on our AWS days shift. *$2,000.00 sign-on bonus!
Position Summary:
Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment system in a safe and orderly manner to meet the needs of production.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot equipment in the wastewater treatment plant with the cooperation of maintenance department staff
Collect and test samples from influent flow, effluent flow, and process vessels to assess system performance and make adjustments
Perform testing on collected samples to assure compliance to internal processes and permitted discharge limits
Initiate discharge of treated water to local treatment facility after confirming compliance with discharge permit limits
Maintain accurate data records on operational parameters, daily activities, system maintenance and collected samples for compliance reporting and operational analysis
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and is completed with required information
Assist chemical delivery suppliers to assure safe delivery of process chemicals into storage tanks
Use a continuous improvement mindset to assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes and minimize operating costs
Document safety and/or environmental incidents and participate in root cause investigations to prevent recurrences
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area
Use variety of tools
Record operational information and/or preform periodic inspections of equipment as needed
Follow all required work safe practices, include wearing and use of all required PPE
Education and Experience:
High School/Trade School
Valid, State of MA Wastewater Treatment Operator License, Grade 3I or higher
3-5 years of related experience
Hazwoper training preferred
Shop Math Skills
Physical Demands:
Must be willing and able to wear a respirator
Infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
Standing, kneeling, bending, sitting
Must be able to work in wet environment
Will be required to climb ladders and stairs
Environment:
Occasional dust, dirt, grease, chemicals, odors, fumes and noise.
Majority of work will be performed inside in a normal manufacturing environment
Exposure to temperatures above 90 degrees -20%
May have to work outside occasionally for short periods of time
