The Data & Technology Solutions team, as part of FinOps, is a high-performing Data & Technical team that thrives on a growth mindset culture, is passionate about technology and is focused on supporting and accelerating FinOps digital transformation journey and data culture. We equip FinOps teams with precise and consistent knowledge of the organizational data and provide insights that lead to action, enabling teams to create value for the organization by automating and digitalizing financial processes and operations. This allows FinOps to operate more efficiently and effectively, manage risks and compliance and provide the best experience for our customers while reducing our operational costs by scale.

A Technical Solution Manager coordinates between business and engineering teams to tackle business challenges and technology integrations. They translate complex issues into requirements for engineers, design roadmaps, and develop technical solutions. The Technical Solution Manager prioritizes problems, defines success metrics, and partners with engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions. They also conduct user testing, track project schedules, and prepare business users for new tech implementations, ensuring everything aligns with business goals. We are looking for a Technical Solution Manager who has deep comfort and capabilities in leveraging Microsoft technology to deliver impactful data and technical solutions. The Technical Solution Manager should be a technically savvy and operationally disciplined professional with a proven record of successfully delivering technology-data related solutions, including business process transformation/automation, advanced analytical data models, data visualization and reporting.

Responsibilities

Partnership and Collaboration

  • Foster collaborations between business and engineering teams to tackle complex challenges and integrate technology solutions.

  • Garners understanding and alignment from process excellence teams for the process's vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • Engage with business owners to clarify requirements, discuss evolving needs, and communicate features and user stories.

  • Advocates priorities, deliverables, resources, and dependencies to achieve expected outcomes.

Solution Definition and Design

  • Works with business owners teams to align technical solutions with overall business strategic objectives.

  • Defines success criteria and performance metrics for a technical solution. Deeply understands operational and performance key performance indicators (KPIs) and success measures (e.g., adoption percentage, engagement) for improving domain area(s).

  • Understands and translates the complex opportunity areas and problem statements into business requirements for the engineering teams working on the solution. Help to translate the customer requirements to technical terms for the engineering team.

  • Partners with engineering teams to design roadmap(s) for a domain area(s) and develop technical solutions.

  • Understands and incorporates technical and business needs to the development of roadmap for solution area(s).

  • Understands and prioritizes complex problems and domain areas following organization priorities.

  • Identifies transformational opportunities, privacy, compliance, or employment experiences that will support achievement of business goals.

  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to validate priorities and participates in prioritization decision making to deliver solutions in a timely manner.

  • Ensures developed technical solutions comply with Privacy and Security standards.

Solution Delivery and Maintenance

  • Conducts user acceptance testing and/or focus groups to determine the end-user experience and needs.

  • Helps mature the solution after the solution is live by addressing customer concerns with thought leadership that may result in new intake.

  • Utilizes success metrics to evaluate the performance of the technical solution. Develops a pathway to resolve any issues.

  • Partners with the engineering teams to deliver high-impact solution areas and minimize variance between estimates and actual project outcomes. Seeks ways to leverage technical solutions across multiple customers.

Though Leadership

  • Demonstrates a deep expertise in technology landscape and business operations to ensure technical and business solutions are in congruent and connected to provide the right business value.

  • Supports proof of concepts (POCs) to evaluate technology fits for business owners needs by staying up to date with existing and emerging technologies.

  • Provides trusted voice at the decision-making table for both business and technical teams. Identifies challenges and opportunities with an in-depth understanding of the business, technology, and solution delivery. Advocates for decisions that make the best use of resources to achieve the overall business strategic objectives.

Portfolio & Project Management

  • Tracks, coordinates, and communicates end-to-end project schedules for solution area(s). Holds stakeholders accountable for following the schedule. Tracks work, dependencies, and resources against project schedules to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios and utilizes finite resources to accomplish goals.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated problem solving the ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering technical transformations in organizations.

  • Proficient understanding of Finance processes and needs. Experience in Financial operations is a plus.

Technical Solution Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
