WestRock Company Technical Services Manager in Atlanta, Georgia
The Opportunity:
The Technical Services Manager is responsible for providing technical support for assigned corporate account(s) and offering their plants technical expertise, field support, and troubleshooting and analysis to address any machinery and/or operational issues. This position will collaborate with top shop and back shop customers and WestRock employees at various organizational levels to achieve optimal customer satisfaction. The Technical Services Manager serves as the technical subject matter expert responsible for educating the customer on WestRock capabilities to improve their operational efficiency and overall customer relationship.
How you will impact WestRock
Identify and recommend solutions to resolve product or service requests regarding technical, operational and engineering type of issues that our customers and WestRock production facilities may encounter
Coordinate new customer specification development and specification maintenance utilizing supply chain data
Conduct scope audits to evaluate customer\u2019s back shop current state and identify operational inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
Create contribution reports that verify savings or operational improvement solutions and leverage the report documents daily to help customers understand WestRock\u2019s value and capabilities
Provide technical input and field support to the product management group during research projects and qualification trials
Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues and customer complaints in a timely manner
Answer complex questions as it relates to WestRock\u2019s Six Pack of value-added resources
Research and evaluate new products and technical innovations to promote the understanding and benefit of technology systems
Manage both internal and external customer relationships, providing value-added sales and service support solutions
Partner with Corporate Business Manager to identify and implement cost savings initiatives and sell WestRock solutions while strengthening the customer relationship
Provide consultation and training to customers to educate them on various areas of corrugated packaging capabilities
What you need to succeed:
Minimum 5 years in corrugated manufacturing packaging industry; machinery/operational experience required
Associates degree (i.e. Packaging, Engineering, Design, etc.) required. Bachelor\u2019s degree preferred.
Six Sigma Certification strongly preferred
25% travel required
Microsoft Office - Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Working knowledge of wraparound case packers, case erectors, tray formers, and mandrel forming equipment
Ability to keep accurate records and present as contribution reports to quantify the WestRock value to our customers
Working knowledge of the technical aspects of paper manufacturing, corrugation/conversion, and supply chain considerations
Knowledge of packaging machines and how they operate with corrugated machinery
