How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

This position reports to the Manager of Safety Assurance

The System Administrator, SMS plays a key role in ensuring the health and effectiveness of Delta's Safety Management System (SMS) by supporting multiple divisions in the use of Delta's SMS software. This role is responsible for daily administration of software systems used for Employee Safety Reporting, Investigations, Quality Assurance, and Safety Risk Management activities. This role is also responsible for managing user access and conducting quarterly software enhancement list to the systems/software's.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with multipleDelta divisions and the third-party vendors to address system related issues relatedto performance, bugs, and related troubleshooting

  • Leading and participating inweekly Delta/vendor support calls

  • Collaborating with developersto fix software bugs or system vulnerabilities impacting SMS functionality

  • Maintaining detailed recordsof troubleshooting activities, including the cause of issues, solutionsimplemented, and affected users

  • Creating a report/log forall system enhancements on a quarterly basis, to prioritize and provide thevendor for development

  • Partnering with Delta ITregarding system interfaces (HR and User feeds, Crew feeds, flight information,logbooks, AWS/EDW issues, etc)

  • Providing solutions to internalsupport requests including; user role and/or permission modifications, role auto-assignmentdefinitions and rules, user activation/deactivation

  • Managing manually assigned roles for Delta employees, partners and vendors, including periodically conductingoversight by initiating audits on roles and users to ensure compliance withinternal security requirements

  • Participating in usertesting in coordination with vendors on new releases as required

  • Keeping abreast of latestSMS technology trends, industry standards, and software updates to ensureeffective troubleshooting

  • Proactively communicatingwith the General Manager, SMS on all system-related issues

  • Collaborating with OAP teamsto develop, manage and conduct oversight of SMS dashboards

  • Participating in trainingsessions to enhance technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills

  • Practice safety consciousbehaviors in all aspects of operational processes and procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • To be successful in this position,the candidate must possess a strong background/experience with:

  • Computer systems administration

  • Familiarity with system ChangeManagement processes

  • Database usage and administration

  • Manipulating large data sets

  • Microsoft Excel and MicrosoftAccess

  • Troubleshooting and problemsolving technical/systems issues

  • Experience working with otherindustry leading aviation systems/software

  • In addition, the candidate musthave:

  • The ability to understandcomplex systems and workflows

  • Good verbal and writtencommunication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills(ability to navigate and work through many ‘unknowns’)

  • Good project management skills

  • Curiosity, desire to learn,spirit of ‘continuous improvement’

  • Ability to occasionally worklate-night or weekend hours

  • Self-starter/self-directedcapabilities

  • Consistently prioritizes safetyand security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking,and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma,GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age andhas authorization to work in the United States.
