Description

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Surgical Tech Coordinator for the Operating Room at our Emory St. Jospeh's campus located in Atlanta, GA . This role will support the Urology/Cystoscopy service line. This individual will:

  • Coordinate the services and program, participate in growth by improving efficiencies, standards, and performance of the service line. Responsible for assisting with planning, implementing, and coordinating services and activities associated with the service line. Act as a clinical liaison and assists with overseeing the technical and clinical aspects of the specified service line.

  • Assist in identifying staff education needs based on clinical situations and recommends appropriate in-service. Work with surgeons, nurses, first assistants and scrub techs to streamline and standardize the service line to improve efficiency and quality of care.

  • Ensure supplies to support the program are available and in good working order. Assist with maintaining inventory/par levels and assist in keeping preference cards up-to-date. Possess the ability to communicate effectively, be self-directed and comfortable with managing multiple responsibilities of the program, including clinical, administrative, educational, and promotional components.

  • Ability to complete other duties as necessary to support the operating room, including, but not limited to, scrubbing and other support for other service lines as needed.

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program OR equivalent experience. Must be able to function as a clinical expert in the specified service line.

  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years' surgical tech experience. 1-2 years¿ experience within specific service line preferred.

Shift:

6:40am - 3:10pm, Monday through Friday, plu on-call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary range:

$26.50 - 32.45/ hr.

  • The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications as well as the specialty area, relivent experience, skills, performance and internal equity.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
