JOB DESCRIPTION: * This is a central university position * Reporting to the Sr. Director for Digital Strategy and Technology within Communications and Public Affairs, this position applies best practices from user experience design to create information architectures, wireframes, content strategies, and content models for both internal and client facing projects. Leads user experience research and design activities, plans and executes content development and editorial schedule, and integrates findings into wireframe and other similar deliverables.

Supports the team project manager for client management and team project management. Keeps current with best practices in web usability, web page design, writing for the web and online newsrooms, including optimization of content for online audiences and search engines. Creates, edits, and manages content and related processes for all projects. Manages projects and works with team members to refine and guide user interfaces design process from user experience and content requirements.

Creates and maintains documentation for content creation, editing, and workflow for each project. Performs cost analysis and implements best practices. Coordinates and provides analysis of online statistical data to pinpoint popular content and develop ways to increase user engagement. Provides consultation and training to clients on new technology and web developments. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, and five years of direct professional experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, information visualization tools and HTML and CSS is required, as well as familiarity with digital information organization, web traffic analysis, and Google Analytics. Working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Cascade Server, Lucid Chart, Coggle.it, Optional Sort and Dyno Mapper is preferred. Advanced degree in communications or certifications in user experience methodologies is preferred.
