Emerson Software Sales Manager in Atlanta, Georgia
We are hiring an experienced and passionate Software Sales Manager to lead the growth of Emerson’s software and software-led solutions in North America. If you have a deep background in HMI/SCADA or industrial software sales and are dedicated to delivering outstanding value, this role is perfect for you. As a Software Sales Manager, you will drive business development, cultivate strategic customer relationships, and provide expert-level support to highlight the value of Emerson’s software platforms. Our focus industries encompass manufacturing, food & beverage, pharma, life sciences, energy, and infrastructure. IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
Develop and implement a strong sales strategy targeting OEMs, end-users, and system integrators across the U.S.
Identify and pursue high-value business opportunities in key industries, bringing to bear in-depth market knowledge to drive growth.
Show leadership by giving influential presentations, demonstrating solutions, and analyzing return on investment.
Accountable for software solution orders, including forecasting and reporting.
Achieve growth sales targets.
Manage the software solution pipeline creation, management, and analysis.
Identify, pursue, and win key target accounts.
Support Distribution partner ecosystem to grow software sales.
Participate in defining campaigns and initiatives for lead generation.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with senior and executive (C-level) decision-makers, addressing complex customer needs with tailored solutions.
Partner with internal teams (product management, engineering, and marketing) to align Emerson’s software capabilities with market demands.
Influence product development by sharing insights on customer challenges, competitive trends, and emerging market needs.
Leverage CRM tools like Salesforce to manage pipeline, forecast accurately, and track sales performance.
Matrix leadership of the sales team. Help the extended team to find and win new customers.
Represent Emerson at industry events, trade shows, and forums, positioning Emerson's software solutions as a market leader.
Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor strategies, and technology advancements to maintain Emerson's competitive edge.
WHO YOU ARE: An experienced sales leader in the software industry, skilled in team building, strategic sales planning, and exceeding revenue targets through consultative selling and strong customer relationships. You have a passion for expanding market reach and encouraging lasting client partnerships.
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
5 years of experience commensurate with the level of this position.
Strong understanding of HMI/SCADA and software solutions sales, industrial automation software, including IIoT, MOM/MES, and/or energy management systems.
Outstanding negotiation, business development, and relationship management abilities.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on delivering value and return on investment for customers.
Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and other sales tools.
Ability to work in a matrix organization, leverage shared resources, and partner with technical teams to address customer-specific needs and develop tailored solutions.
Proven track record of driving sales growth and team engagement in a multi-product environment.
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
Experience with Emerson’s Movicon HMI/SCADA or comparable platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, FactoryTalk).
An established network in manufacturing, food & beverage, pharma, life sciences, energy, and infrastructure.
Proven ability to win business through strategic relationship-building.
Ability to work with industrial customers to understand their objectives and conceptualize solutions.
Candidates should be comfortable selecting technologies and helping to define project scope.
