Oracle Software Development Director in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Description

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior engineering management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The Director of Engineering in the OCI Data & AI services group will be responsible for global operations, planning, forecasting and execution management of a Tier 0 Cloud Service. Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Setting the technical direction for the architectural of the Managed Data Platform in collaboration with other senior technical resources.

  • Developing strategic plans to accomplish technical as well as business objectives in partnership with leaders across various Oracle business groups and customers.

  • Drive innovation within the Managed data platform through advancement of OCI data services.

  • Management responsibility over multiple software engineering teams.

  • Building high performing geographically distributed engineering teams through hiring and coaching.

  • Establish and implement engineering strategies that align with applicable standards and regulatory practices for healthcare software products.

Responsibilities

As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture.

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience with an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in Cloud Operations/Cloud Infrastructure Engineering preferably in a multinational organization.

  • 5-10 years of experience leading and developing engineering program focused teams

  • Passion for fixing problems, with a curious mind.

  • Strong analysis and reporting skills with attention to detail and accuracy at the senior executive level

  • Ability to collect, organize, and display data in consumable format

  • Closure attitude, sense of urgency. Problem identification and solving skills

  • Able to meet ambitious turnaround time in a fast-moving environment

  • Good relationship leadership skills, able to work across global teams who may not have a financial background

  • Experience in working across business units and with cross-functional collaboration

  • Manages information with proper sensitivity and has a high sense of Business Ethics

  • Adaptable to change

  • Fluency in English, excellent verbal and written communication skill

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $120,300 to $291,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
