KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in managing administrative activities associated with research projects including training and supervision of personnel, grant and budget preparation, data management and statistical analysis and adherence to applicable regulations.

  • Assists in preparing budgets, monitors expenditures and prepares financial reports.

  • Manages databases including data collection, coding, analysis and storage.

  • Assists in developing and submitting grant proposals; monitors grant expenditures and advises principal investigator of changes in reporting or accounting requirements.

  • Serves as project liaison to other departments, outside organizations, government agencies and product representatives.

  • Oversees the preparation of operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies.

  • Ensures project is administered according to research protocol.

  • May assist in recruiting and interviewing patients/subjects, developing and conducting tests and surveys, gathering or abstracting data or making presentations.

  • May conduct literature searches and assist with publications.

  • May supervise staff by orienting, training and giving them ongoing performance feedback.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a science discipline, business management, or related field and two years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:

The candidate will be responsible for recruiting and scheduling 100 postpartum women from the Atlanta metro area, completing research visits, and processing participant incentives. This will include conducting home visits to administer an integrated intervention, addressing adverse childhood experiences, promoting positive parent-child relationships, and encouraging healthy behaviors such as sleep, eating, and physical activity. They will work with trained providers to help participants structure daily activities for their children, increase positive interactions, and address challenging behavior. Additionally, the candidate will conduct research visits in participants' homes, which occur in the evenings and weekends. These visits will involve administering questionnaires, initializing air, light, and noise monitoring devices, and instructing participants on the use of sleep and ambulatory blood pressure monitors. The candidate will ensure quality control of data under the direction of the project manager or Dr. Johnson and will be responsible for calibrating and maintaining intervention and monitoring equipment. They will also be in charge of mailing sleep and cardiovascular feedback letters to participants and their physicians upon request. The position is full-time 40 hours a week.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Phlebotomy, recruitment, data collection, and data management

  • Experience recruiting and enrolling Black or African American adults in research studies

  • Live in metro-Atlanta area

  • 2 years of research experience

  • Highly organized

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Reliable transportation
