The Strategic Risk Insights (SRI) organization at Amazon is responsible for revolutionizing the way the company identifies and reduces systemic security risks across its Stores Business Security Teams (BSTs).

Reporting to senior leadership, this high-impact role will spearhead the strategic vision and delivery of cutting-edge security initiatives across Amazon's vast global operations. The successful candidate will build and guide a talented team of security experts, leveraging advanced automation, machine learning, and data analysis to uncover unknown risks and accelerate problem resolution at scale.

The ideal candidate will have a strong pedigree building large technical teams with deep security expertise with a strong focus on internal customer engagement.

You will draw from your deep and broad technical expertise to mentor your team and provide leadership on complex technical, business and legal issues. You will manage and be responsible for delivering many of our most strategic technical projects, deliver on scalable systems that are on the cutting edge of Information Security technology and that have a significant impact on the Amazon business and competitive position.

Key job responsibilities

As a senior leader within the Strategic Risk Insights (SRI) organization, you will helm a mission-critical program to continuously raise the bar on Amazon's security posture across Stores Business Security Teams (BSTs). In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for driving the strategic vision and delivery of security observability, issue identification, and systemic problem resolution initiatives. Leading a talented team of security engineers and technical program managers, you will leverage cutting-edge automation, machine learning, and data analysis to uncover unknown security risks, accelerate root cause analysis, and deliver comprehensive solutions at scale. Most importantly, you will continue growing and evolving a diverse, passionate team charged with protecting Amazon's customer trust through world-class security practices. As Senior Manager, Technical Program Manager, you will be part of the larger technical and product leadership community at Amazon. This community is the backbone of the company, plays a critical role in the broad business planning, and you will be working closely with senior executives to develop business targets and resource requirements. You will use your influence on our long-term technical and business strategy, helps us hire talented team of security engineers and ultimately enable us to deliver innovative new solutions rapidly.

A day in the life

In this fast-paced, high-impact role, you'll tackle a diverse array of security challenges spanning Amazon's global infrastructure and customer-facing applications. One day, you may be diving deep into a complex security issue, leveraging advanced data analysis and machine learning to uncover the root cause and develop a comprehensive resolution plan. The next, you could be engaging with cross-functional stakeholders, earning their trust and aligning on the strategic roadmap for your team's security observability initiatives. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field or 10+ years of relevant experience

• 10+ years of relevant program management experience

• 3+ years of relevant people management experience

• 5+ years of experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

• Experience owning and driving security and/or audit program roadmap and strategy

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in related field

• Experience in delivering large-scale systems

• An understanding of distributed and service-oriented architectures

• Proven analytical thinking, skills in metrics creation and project management, attention to details, and exceptional organizational skills

• Prior experience building complex, real-time software systems involving AI, ML, product graphs, semantic search, successfully delivered to customer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
