The Coca-Cola Company Senior Director, Marketing Planning and Operations (NAOU) in Atlanta, Georgia

The Senior Director of Marketing Planning & Operations plays a critical role in leading the annual planning process for the North America Operating Unit (NAOU) Marketing organization, orchestrating the roadmap for initiatives for operational efficiencies, collaborating with cross functional partners to prioritize across all categories, and leading a team of senior managers that develop and operationalize strategic priorities for marketing. This position serves as the voice that guides, oversees, and leads marketing processes while identifying operational efficiencies and potential barriers. This role is within the Marketing Operations & Capabilities organization.

Focus, Scope, & Impact:

  • Strong growth mindset with ability to change direction and lead with agility to remain focused on fewer, bigger, better.

  • Collaborates with Marketing leadership to determine priority initiatives to move into the planning pipeline for NAOU.

  • Leads development of annual plan prioritization based on strategic input from multiple system stakeholders, utilizing Workfront data as an input into the prioritization process. Responsible for synthesizing feedback, insights, analytics, sources of growth, and strategic direction to create a prioritized annual plan to drive growth.

  • Leads and facilitates annual planning process for the marketing organization across all category clusters. Liaison between Marketing leadership, Global, TI&S, Marketing Operations Project Management Office, Commercial Strategy and Operations, & Merchandising Excellence for System planning milestones: HIT week, Level Set, Level Up, Innovation Day, Ready to Elevate (RTL), Conceptual Sell, Ready to Sell (RTS), and Ready to Execute (RTE).

  • Balances focus for team across multiple planning cycles including current year, short-term (1 year out), and future (2-3 years out)

  • Directs operational processes & practices across Marketing organization, focusing on greater agility and improved efficiencies, determining how all the pieces come together for maximum productivity.

  • Scale a Global Experimentation platform within NAOU by creating a culture of networked, fast-learning team of experimentation orchestrators that scales adoption and re-applies global learnings to drive effectiveness of investment to make accurate business decisions.

  • Provide direct reports with leadership and clear direction/prioritization to steward annual category plans and program operational details. Coaches team in performance/skills growth, career journey, and agile practices.

  • Leads special projects for Marketing Operations & Capabilities

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry, marketing & commercial

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of individual contributors

  • Extensive knowledge/experience of business planning, project management, process management/improvement

  • Planning experience - strategic and tactical thinking (forward-looking vision, anticipation of future needs, understanding operational levers)

  • Ability to synthesize the needs of multiple key stakeholders

  • Ability to build partnerships and establish trust & credibility across all levels

  • Strong ability to collaborate and influence others to gain consensus & alignment

  • Ability to communicate effectively in situations where other parties may have opposing interests/objectives. Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely is essential

  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills to set a clear direction

  • Thrives under pressure within a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Masters degree preferred
