Chick-fil-A Senior Cloud Network Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

Overview

Chick-fil-A is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to expand and migrate our business processes and applications from an on-prem Data Center environment to sustainable cloud environments.

the Senior Cloud Network Engineer is part of the Chick-fil-A Infrastructure and Network team which s responsible for implementing and maintaining connectivity to Chick-fil-A Restaurants and the Corporate Support Center locations supporting critical business needs. 

In this role, you will utilize your expertise to design, build, deliver, and maintain a highly reliable, modern, scalable, and complex LAN, WAN, and Cloud infrastructure.  You will also influence and contribute to strategic planning efforts as we continuously improve the delivery of networking services supporting our rapidly growing business, including efforts to expand and migrate our business processes and applications into cloud environments.  In addition, you will partner with Digital Transformation and Technology (DTT) teams and other internal departments to help create solutions to facilitate business processes and requirements. You will also consult with external partners to bring in knowledge to support growth and innovation. Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain campus, data center and cloud network architecture and infrastructure.

  • Function as a consulted resource on Data Center to Cloud migration planning.

  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect data and systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement network policies and procedures.

  • Monitor performance and optimize network infrastructure for maximum efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot network issues and coordinate resolution with vendors and internal teams.

  • Maintain documentation related to network configurations, processes, and procedures.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in cloud networking.

  • Partner with the DTT Experience and Delivery team to lead chain-wide infrastructure rollouts

  • Partner with the DTT Cybersecurity team on compliance audits, design requirements and new security guidelines required for Network Infrastructure

  • Tier 3 Support - major incident and problem escalations which require network engineering expertise and assistance

  • Provide knowledge sharing, streamlined documentation and live training to 1st/2nd Tier support teams.

  • Design, deliver, and maintain network lab infrastructure supporting critical digital initiatives

  • Consult with Vertical Business Lines and Ecosystems, innovating ways to provide solutions and suppliers

  • Represent Chick-fil-A Infrastructure and Network in outside discussions, technical forums, and conferences

  • Plans and directs projects and provides advanced technical knowledge, leadership, and consultation for the full stack of network infrastructure

  • Research, design, and maintain network technology roadmaps to include strategic direction, hardware selection, network design, and managed service providers

  • Own and direct network infrastructure hardware lifecycle management

  • Full responsibility for network supplier governance and Operational oversight

  • Cultivate new and current vendor relationships, including assistance with budgetary and financial strategy

  • Identify capacity and performance issues to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of networking infrastructure

  • Maintain Technical Currency of existing network infrastructure.

  • Maintain firmware and configurations of existing network infrastructure.

  • Partner with internal and external developers to identify and implement network automations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud network solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Network LAN/WAN Engineering, Network Design and Implementation, Supplier Management, Cloud Network Engineering, Hardware/Software Lifecycle Management, Network Operations Oversight, Network Configuration/Firmware Management, Network Lab Management

  • Expert level knowledge in network infrastructure technologies – routing; switching; security (Layer 1 – Layer 7, Security Policy).

  • Ability to apply, design and implement Software-Defined Networking concepts and technologies

  • Expert level knowledge in Wireless technology – Wi-Fi design, implementation, and troubleshooting

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).

  • Knowledge of network security best practices and tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent

  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.).

  • Familiarity with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.).

  • Experience in configuring and managing SD-WAN solutions.

  • Prior experience in a similar role in a fast-paced environment.

  • Configuration and troubleshoot Wireless Access Points (WAP) 

  • Analyze and interpret output of networking support utilities and tools 

  • Experience with networking Command-Line Interface (CLI) 

  • Design and implementation of Routing protocols – EIGRP, OSPF, eBGP, iBGP 

  • Design and implementation of LAN Switching – VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, CoS, EVPN-VXLAN

  • Design and implementation of QoS, TCP/IP protocol suite, Load Balancing

  • Design and implementation of protocols - HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL

  • Design and implementation of Network Security - IPSec VPN, NGFW 

  • Industry standard network certifications or practical industry experience

  • Software Development Process and Frameworks

  • Design and implementation of networking in cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) environments

  • Cisco CCNP, JNCIP, Fortinet NSE7, CISSP, AWS Architect and/or Advanced Networking
