What you'll bring

  • 4+ years of technical accounting experience with accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

  • Ability to interpret and present technical accounting details in lay terms to non-accounting business partners.

  • Highly motivated self-starter that can work independently in a dynamic, multi-business unit environment across all levels of management.

  • Analytical thinker who can identify and implement effective processes improvements.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)

  • Excellent Written and Communication skills

  • Knowledge of Oracle GL and Qliksense a Plus

  • Large accounting software package expertise (Oracle financials, etc).

  • CPA, BS or BA Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.

How you will lead

This role is within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting organization. The position is located in San Diego, CA. This position is primarily responsible for managing the accounting associated with our global billing processes all the way to cash receipt. This includes various month-end duties such as preparing journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, etc.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate and lead across multiple functions and roles to achieve accounting objectives. This often requires strong investigative and analytical skills to research exceptions, trends and opportunities. This leader will use their strong change management skills to drive issues & opportunities through to resolution and subsequent validation with the full transparency of involved stakeholders at all levels within the larger Intuit organization.

  • This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations around electronic payments; including resolution of issues associated with this process, daily validation of activity between the Billing System, Payment Processor and Bank. Management of exceptions; Chargeback and Payment Failures and monthly reconciliation of the Clearing Account to the General Ledger.

  • Effectively assess risk over accounts and areas of responsibility. Apply judgment to ensure that financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact and operating effectively.

  • Participate in the month and quarter end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department.

  • Prepare and maintain journal entries consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met.

  • Prepare and deliver FLUX comments, Audit Requests and other duties as assigned

  • Create reporting utilities, management reports, spreadsheet models, process flows, and ad-hoc queries to support business analysis

  • Work closely with auditors, business partners and finance partners on accounting related matters

  • Support compliance and improve processes and internal controls in area of responsibility.

  • Suggest proposed solutions and improvements; work with cross-functional teams to design and drive implementation
