Job Description
Position Summary
We are looking to add a Project Engineer to Xylem to work a flexible hybrid work schedule at one of our locations in the United States. This person will be technically responsible and provide quality oversight for executing large capital projects throughout North America.
Typical projects follow a Design-Build model, with each project being a custom-designed, water or wastewater treatment solutions based on wastewater properties and discharge requirements (i.e., no cookie-cutter projects). This person will work closely with other team members (Project Manager, Construction Manager, Application Engineer, Electrical/Controls Engineer, and CAD team) to deliver a positive outcome to our customer.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks
Act as an expert and support the Project Manager as partner by planning, supervising, ensuring, and reporting of appropriate activities with regards to failure prevention and effective proceedings (pro-active and re-active). Of particular importance is the authority to intervene at any stage in the project, in case of non-conformance in proceedings and project results.
Defining and issuing of project specific directives in collaboration with the PM to the project team members to ensure compliance with the relevant internal and customer processes, quality rules and regulations.
Establish and monitor quality plan, define quality targets-based project critical factors and define methods/tools based on standards. Develop, assign and monitor progress to defined ITP's and ITC's. All proceedings with the application of methods/ tools should be clearly defined with reference to standard processes of related business.
Plan and ensure the required quality level of the project-specific supply chain (internal & external) with the focus on specifications and interface definitions. This includes the application of supplier-related procedures, such as selection, qualification, development, integration, supervision and auditing.
Develop P&IDs and other deliverables for the project.
Conduct in-person shop or jobsite reviews throughout the project.
Support the construction/project manager with the technical oversight of contractors.
Position Requirements
FORMAL EDUCATION
BS/BA degree in Engineering.
3-15 yrs. of experience
Strong knowledge of operational processes as defined in work area.
Strong understanding of business acumen.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in the following would be considered an asset
Quality plans such as ITP's and ITC's.
Field execution of large, industrial capital projects
Wastewater treatment plant design
Liquid Pumping Systems
Hydraulic Analysis using modeling software (PipeFlo or equivalent)
Chemical Addition Systems

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 20%
TARGET SALARY - 80,000-120,000 dependent upon years of experience
