We are seeking a Principal Product Manage r to lead and innovate within the Homepage Whole Page Optimization (WPO) team. This team is at the forefront of delivering best whole page optimization across a variety of key Microsoft surfaces such as Edge new tab pages, News & Interests feed in Windows, Lockscreen, MSN.com.

As a Principal Product Manager in this space, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and execution of whole page optimization. This includes blending diverse content types and formats, designing personalized user journeys, and ensuring we meet the evolving needs of users across the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of world-class AI/ML applications that delight customers across Copilot, Edge, Windows, and Mobile.

  • Translate business objectives into actionable strategies, optimization tactics, and detailed technical requirements in close collaboration with data scientists.

  • Develop and own the roadmap for multiple feature areas, ensuring alignment across divisions.

  • Foster strong collaboration and clear communication with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and engineers—to deliver exceptional consumer-grade applications.

  • Define success metrics and performance indicators, oversee experiments, and measure outcomes using data-driven insights and research.

  • Identify long-term investment opportunities, advocate for them with stakeholders, and secure support for key feature areas.

  • Influence and inspire teams across the organization to drive impactful business outcomes, ensuring success criteria are met for multiple initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience leading product teams building consumer products.

  • 1+ year of experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), or Large Language Models (LLMs).

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading product teams focused on building consumer products in areas such as homepage experiences, advertising targeting, optimization.

  • Hands-on experience developing consumer products that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), or Large Language Models (LLMs).

  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, effectively manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving requirements and deadlines.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
