IBM Lead Consultant in Atlanta, Georgia

Introduction

IBM Application Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of their business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change. We are looking for experts who can build credibility and trust with our clients and provide knowledge that addresses individual and unique business needs.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Lead Consultant for IBM Cognitive Applications, you will gather facts (through primary and secondary research, structured and unstructured interviews, surveys, etc.) in support of specific engagements; typically one engagement at a time. They are responsible for the design, analysis (customer, financial, operational) and presentation of data. You will be expected to craft original work products with minimal supervision. You will apply knowledge of consulting methodologies, key technologies, engagement support tools and demonstrate strong knowledge of their competency area and/or industry. Additionally, you will establish relationships within client organizations and deliver timely, high quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Personally contribute to the project success

  • Lead individual scope & services according to the Statement of Work (SOW); Call out scope creep and other project issues

  • Develop and maintain strong client and partner relationships

  • Build, implement, and share intellectual capital (reusable assets)

  • Develop, use, and share established methodologies to improve results and efficiency of the integration team

  • Produce feedback for the Product Management and Development team based on customer requirements or implementation experiences

  • Assist Support during critical situations and project deployments

  • Promote and lead the application of quality processes, tools and training among peers

  • Provide feedback to management team to increase departmental operational efficiencies

Teams you will collaborate with include (but are not limited to):

  • Internal Services Delivery Organizations

  • IBM Product Management, Development/Engineering, & Support

  • Similar customer-facing technical resources

Experience with the following industries include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Financial/Banking/Insurance

  • Healthcare

  • Retail/Manufacturing

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Five years of relevant experience

  • Direct experience in the following IBM products and technologies: IBM Sterling Integrator (B2BI), Sterling File Gateway (SFG), IBM Standards Processing Engine (SPE), IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender (ITX/WTX), IBM Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS), IBM Control Center (ICC), Gentran, Connect Direct/Enterprise

  • Experience in working with communication/data, handling protocols and knowledge of industry data standards

  • Experience in application programming/scripting technologies

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Experience working with IBM complementary products: IBM WebSphere family, Cognos

  • IBM Cloudant, IBM Partner Engagement Manager (PEM) experience

  • Knowledge of Extract Transform Load, JavaScript Object Notation (ETL, JSON)

  • Knowledge of popular Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
