The Privacy Change Risk Analyst reports to the front-line data privacy organization, participating in enterprise change initiatives to review privacy compliance risk and working directly with Privacy Compliance and Legal partners to provide feedback to the business to address the privacy risk within the change initiative. The Privacy Change Risk Lead Analyst will be required to understand, analyze, and apply privacy risk and compliance principles to make business process and control recommendations, utilizing policies, procedures, and standards as guidance. The Lead Analyst will also be asked to:

• Work in a direct or indirect leadership capacity to influence collaboration, communication and outcomes of various sizes and complexity.

• Provide project and portfolio management updates for smaller projects and business enhancements.

• Serve as a key liaison between line of business (LOB) and the Privacy operation, compliance, and Legal teams.

• May oversee the work, train, and coach other Business Analyst and/or contractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Collaborate with peer groups in Technology and LOBs to identify, document and communicate business needs and provide technology solutions.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business process owners and other stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing of a solution that meets the business requirements. 3. Establish project and work requests requirements using document, business process and workflow analysis.

  • Ensure all stakeholders are involved in requirements gathering activities to facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs with business, Technology and other resources to plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional and technical requirements.

  • Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications and functions.

  • Prepare user interface diagrams, business process and workflow diagrams in support of small work requests (enhancements) or large scale initiatives.

  • Understand the long-term business objectives and suggest strategies to meet those objectives and introduce technical innovations, as needed.

  • Assist/coordinate pre-planning activities (e.g. business case, project estimate, project risk assessment, stakeholder analysis, draft charter).

  • Improve and optimize service delivery utilizing structured problem solving methodology.

  • Attend business unit management meetings, as needed and facilitate routine meetings with business stakeholders to provide updates on in-flight initiatives.

  • Become deeply immersed and knowledgeable about core business functions, processes and workflows associated with assigned business areas and projects.

  • Serves as Subject-matter expert (SME) who can easily analyze the business applications and technologies.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all Technology and Truist policies and standards (e.g. Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Change Management).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or ten years of privacy operations, risk, or compliance experience

  • Eight years of experience as a business analyst or related role/experience, with experience in one or more of the following areas for privacy-specific projects: Project Management, Business Process Management, Business Operations

  • Ability to work independently and autonomously, as needed to drive desired outcomes

  • Ability to issue-spot privacy risks within Change Initiatives, including but not limited to the need to honor opt outs; personal information collection, usage, processing, or sharing; privacy notice and/or disclosure revisions; automated decision making usage; web domain digital object usage

  • Ability to interact with management, business staff, and Technology professionals in order to gather, compile and exchange information related to the Change Initiatives in question

  • Strong meeting facilitation, presentation, verbal and written skills and ability to resolve conflicts

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints

  • Ability to effectively interface with staff at all levels

  • Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment

  • Excellent facilitation and organizational skills

  • Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or JD and 5 years of related experience.

  • Previous experience in the banking industry.

  • IAPP Certification – CIPP/US and/or CIPM, current and maintained

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Archer GRC, and Clarity

  • Experience with traditional Waterfall SDLC and/or Agile/Lean methodologies

  • Experience presenting to and creating materials for Board-level Committees and working groups

  • Able to identify operational and privacy compliance risks, rate control effectiveness, and design controls where necessary to bring identified risks within risk appetite.

  • Experience creating processes and controls related to privacy and data ethics regulations and guidance, including but not limited to CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, TCPA, and NIST/FFIEC Guidelines.

Must be able to come into the office 3 days a week until October 1, 2024 policy will be 4 days a week.
