The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.

The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo’s risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.

The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.

Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our team members, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

The leadership position will oversee management of a team which will partner with DM&I leaders, corporate functions, and line of business (LOBs) to implement the operating model meet the diverse business needs across Wells Fargo. This role will drive the definition various user communities’ data requirements, engagement models and education to meet specific business needs, while managing risk and driving operational efficiencies.

POSITION #1 :

  • Partner closely with Business Data Leaders who represent respective business functions and LOBs, covering all of Wells Fargo. Understand priorities for the end user groups, adoption challenges to develop approaches that allow for least “friction” to adopt the Enterprise Data Strategy, working closely with the EDL Cross-APP Manager.

  • Develop & track a cross-business view of Use Case Portfolio across all Wells Fargo that the EDL should serve to meet business needs using value delivery approach, phased priority (e.g., regulatory and risk compliance, revenue and efficiency).

  • Understand requirements of LOB partners for data, analytics, and reporting to inform prioritization of platform enhancement and new innovation working closely with the EDL Product Management.

  • Work closely with the peers on the EDL Management Leadership to integrate a communication model that educates and stimulate demand for leveraging the Data Security, Platform Capabilities and Data Assets and Data Utilities of the EDL Platform.

  • Develop and enhance approaches to deepen and broaden adoption across business areas of the of EDL platform using data-driven analysis of user segments, platform product usage, data product usage, etc.

  • Partner with BDL teams to implement Change Management programs using proven techniques to drive healthy adoption of the Enterprise Data Strategy and EDL Platform.

  • Launch and maintain Communities of Practices (CoPs) for user segments to drive enterprise-wide collaboration and crowdsourcing of data consumption curation patterns, consumption patterns, and adoption practices.

  • Act as a catalyst to socialize capabilities, solutions, and data assets to advance the data agenda of the enterprise.

POSITION #2 :

  • Develop and maintain a Living Product Roadmap for the entire Data Supply Chain with rigorous investment analysis that is consistent with our holistic data strategy to meet business needs using value delivery approach, phased priority (e.g., regulatory and risk compliance, data domains prioritization), and informed by current business needs and emerging technology trends

  • Understand requirements of LOB partners for data, analytics, and reporting to inform the technology and architecture design

  • Develop and manage a Product Release Management process across Technology and User communities for the EDL Platform

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of business intelligence experience

  • 3+ years of Big Data experience

  • 6+ years of management experience

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in cultivating authentic and strong executive relationships, delivering formal change management across diverse business areas

  • Experience leveraging Big Data/Hadoop, Data Management, Analytics technologies

  • Strong expertise in negotiating across product, cost and time constraints while adhering to strategic (data & architectural) principles

  • Experience with data management best practices and disciplines including data governance, data architecture, data quality, analytics and business intelligence

  • Experience in launching and running complex programs using Agile Scrum and Waterfall delivery teams

  • Experience with Banking Finance, Risk, Regulatory Reporting data platforms and technologies, and experience addressing data related requirements of regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders

  • Broad experience with Banking applications, products, technology architecture and systems integration experience in consumer and wholesale banking

  • Ability to understand banking business processes and objectives to enable successful implementation of business growth and efficiency initiatives supported by data and analytics

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to engage and influence senior technology and business executives

  • Broad financial expertise with knowledge of corporate affairs, financial and product fundamentals, and business policies, products, processes, systems, and roles

  • Experience creating strategic plans for enterprise wide business initiatives

  • Experience defining, documenting, and implementing business requirements, policies, procedures and processes
