The Director of Quality and Operations Excellence is a senior-level leader responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and continuous improvement activities across the organization. This role ensures that the organization maintains the highest standards of product and service quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The Director will develop, implement, and manage quality policies, standards, and systems that drive customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and support the company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management and Assurance :

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent quality across all products, services, and operations.

  • Oversee quality control processes, including auditing, testing, and inspection, to identify and address quality issues and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve customer complaints, product defects, and process inefficiencies.

  • Operational Excellence :

  • Design and implement continuous improvement programs, such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen, to optimize processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational enhancements and drive initiatives that promote a culture of excellence and innovation.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational performance, identify trends, and develop action plans for improvement.

  • Regulatory Compliance :

  • Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and trends, and proactively adjust quality and operational strategies to ensure continued compliance.

  • Team Leadership and Development :

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing quality and operations excellence team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team.

  • Promote cross-departmental collaboration to align quality and operational goals with overall business objectives.

  • Customer Focus :

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders to understand quality expectations and drive customer satisfaction.

  • Implement feedback mechanisms to capture customer insights and use data to drive quality and operational improvements.

  • Strategic Planning and Execution :

  • Contribute to the strategic planning process by providing insights on quality and operational trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Align quality and operational strategies with the company’s overall strategic goals and objectives.

  • Lead projects and initiatives that support the company’s growth and innovation goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Operations Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems (QMS) and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in quality and operational excellence.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data-driven approaches to identify and resolve complex issues.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Expert, or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) are highly desirable.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with potential travel to multiple locations.

  • May require extended hours to meet project deadlines or address quality issues.
