The Director of Airport Technologies and Project Management is responsible for the creation and deployment of strategic growth opportunities within our Baggage Handling Systems product line. Working with the strategy team, this position addresses all phases of the strategic planning process, including initial lead and opportunity management, market/competitive customer intelligence, and overall customer relationship management.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Develops, coordinates, and implements business strategies to align with the company’s strategy to drive growth and profitability.

  • Develops and drives execution of recommendations for areas of opportunity across the business.

  • Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members to achieve results.

  • Identify new market opportunities and build relationships with potential clients.

  • Ability to negotiate effectively and close deals that drive revenue growth.

  • Lead the sales team in achieving revenue targets and expanding the customer base.

  • Lead execution of the strategy deployment process by ensuring initiatives are properly resourced, have detailed action plans and have meaningful targets. Ensure that when a target is missed a countermeasure is implemented to get the initiative back on plan.

  • Manage subcontractors based on defined SLAs and governance structure in collaboration with the procurement team.

  • Manage contractual, financial and technical control of projects.

  • Manage communications between sales, project execution and operations to ensure system performance and technical specification requirements.

  • Manages each phase of the project including the installation, configuration, and commissioning of baggage handling systems to meet requirements.

  • Ensures the technical build and physical production of the baggage handling system aligns to and is being developed based on the specific customers’ order.

  • Coordinating delivery of conveyor systems with the project members and subcontractors.

  • Partner with the customer and sales representative to validate conveyor specifications are identified and upheld throughout the build process.

  • Act as the main point of contact for the customer from the finalization of the bid process through final inspection of the installed system.

  • Partner with subcontractors on problem solving and root cause analysis for issues during the manufacturing build process.

  • Define, conduct, and summarize market research and analysis. Make strategic recommendations to AeroTech leadership based on analysis.

  • Manage projects and a diverse team of people within the airport and security industry.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or area

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in strategic business planning or in a related area experience

  • Ability to travel up to 60%

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in the field or in a related area; MBA preferred.

  • Thought leadership, change management, and project management experience

  • Ability to influence change and build relationships with other business leaders

  • Ability to conduct executive level presentations and facilitate group discussions to tackle complex problems

  • Broad cross-functional skillset

  • Proven experience managing multiple and competing priorities
