Director, Account Management

Overview:

Our North America sales organization is seeking to build a diverse, strategic and consultative workforce of relationship managers and problem-solvers. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who display strong achievement orientation, intellectual curiosity, openness, resilience, diligence, and the ability to effectively marshal resources. We align our team to compete and differentiate on the basis of customer intimacy, product and solution strength, and partnership orientation.

The position is responsible for the relationship management of large, strategic issuing customer to achieve specific business goals that jointly drive market share, volume, and revenue growth across all consumer credit lines of business, including co-brands. This individual will be responsible for driving joint success with this market leading National Account with a tremendous growth opportunity. Focus will be on optimizing the growth of existing book of business while developing new business opportunities, customized payment solutions and comprehensive consulting support, while leveraging MasterCard’s strong brand, technology, operations and digital platforms to deliver bottom line results to customer and Mastercard.

Role:

• Responsible for driving aggressive financial goals and growth for consumer, co-brand, and affinity business lines

• Ability to manage and drive results with the bank and the bank’s co-brand merchant partners

• Design overall strategies that drive customized solutions for the business that drive profit, revenue growth, and value creation for both MasterCard and the customer.

• Frequent collaboration with the customers to establish and execute annual business planning and quarterly review sessions to establish, monitor and report progress against joint objectives.

• Strategic engagement at multiple levels with identified decision makers and key influencers

• Analyze customer’s business through profitability modeling, financial forecasting and competitive analysis.

• Responsible for specific account revenue and P&L management and results.

• Initiate high-level interactive business conversations with key decision makers around new or emerging opportunities with focus on bringing new revenue opportunities to MasterCard.

All About You:

• Firm analytical capabilities and leverage data and analysis into opportunities.

• Strong marketing background, consumer marketing, optimization, acquisition, etc.

• Expertise in sales in financial services industry, preferably in retail or consumer card credit card business.

• Demonstrated expertise in coordinating multiple internal organizations to support complex customers

• Deep knowledge of the card and payments industry – 15+ years of experience required

• Strong understanding of current payments marketplace and market research to anticipate how Mastercard products and solutions can help drive a customer’s business.

• Thorough understanding of financial planning including investment and profitability analysis, P&L management related to risk dynamics, and budget and planning experience leveraging business strategy acumen.

• Bachelor Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred

• Must demonstrate effective leadership, negotiation and problem resolution skills.

• Proven client relationship skills with solid negotiation capabilities and demonstrated influencing skills.

• Strategic thinker, superior presentation skills, communication skills

• Travel up to 50%

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
