As a Childrens Medical Services Program Coordinator within the Office Of Child Health at the Georgia Department of Public Health,you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: The Childrens Medical Services Program Coordinator leads stakeholder and provider engagement, quality improvement and training activities within the program. This position will support strategies and performance activities related to ensuring a comprehensive system of services for children and youth with complex medical needs. This position reports to the CMS Director within the Office of Child Health in the Departments Women, Children and Nursing Services Division.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for coordinating and providing technical assistance and guidance for the CMS programs stakeholder workgroups and committees.
  • Coordinates ongoing program quality assurance and improvement activities for the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs population domain within the Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant.
  • Coordinate staff development including in-service training and continuing education for public health staff responsible for administering the CMS program.
  • Coordinates training and professional development for community partners and health care providers.
  • Supports program needs assessment activities to determine program priorities and strategies.
  • Responsible for supporting the development, management and reporting for grants and contracts.
  • Prepares documents, materials, and presentations for meetings.
  • Serve on workgroups, committees and stakeholder groups as requested.
  • Researches and recommends evidence based strategies and best practices.
  • Performs other assignments as required.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND Six years of related experience OR Eight years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the minimum qualification possess the following:

  • Masters degree in public health or a related field from an accredited college or university AND four years of experience performi g work related to area of assignment
  • Strong meeting planning and group facilitation skills
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interface with internal and external senior leaders
  • Experience in program planning, development, implementation and evaluation
  • Current experience in contract management
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
