Our team’s charter is to lead and influence deal-making and empowerment strategy for Cloud Marketing across Microsoft’s commercial portfolio of products. This includes building discounting strategies, empowering our global sales teams to compete and win deals while providing flexibility to meet unique customer needs; all while aligning Microsoft’s business models and go-to-market strategy. Your role:

You will own the deal-making and empowerment strategy for the Business Applications portfolio of products and services. You will partner closely with our Business Applications product business planners, product marketing teams, sales, finance, and licensing to consistently evaluate our current strategy, identify new areas or opportunities for improvement, and build business cases to launch and land these strategies focused on driving revenue in a profitable manner. You will lead competitive research to ensure we are enabling the sales and growth of the Business Applications business and be critical to the success of strategic launches that help drive digital transformation for our customers.

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

  • Drive and own the management, business case development, and implementation of our deal-making strategies to directly influence Business Applications revenue and adoption.

  • Gather competitive insights and build strategies to enable sellers to compete effectively while landing our business models and value proposition.

  • Leverage your experience and expertise to partner across business planning and identify areas to drive deeper readiness and execution globally that aligns to your deal-making vision.

  • Partner with product business planning, sales, and licensing to drive the Industry Cloud strategy.

  • Ensure that your vision connects broadly to Microsoft’s vision of customer and partner enablement.

  • Provide expertise for Business Applications deal-making in support of cross-cloud solutions.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in Business Applications or related SaaS products/services.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field

  • OR 3+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience in developing business strategies through sound business judgement, collaboration, data benchmarking and validation through research and testing.

  • A track record of working across diverse stakeholders to define and execute strategic initiatives with passion, precision, and excellence.

  • Effective communication and leadership skills to drive projects and build executive buy-in and support for new or updated initiatives.

  • Ability to build and drive financial analysis to evaluate opportunities and quantify potential impact, synthesizing data from multiple sources.

  • Understanding and experience working in commercial cloud businesses, either in the industry or at Microsoft.

Business Planning IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $83,400 - $167,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $108,900 - $183,000 per year.
