Job Summary
The Associate Manager, Customer Supply Chain is to serve as the supply chain liaison between internal and external contacts spanning the Food, Drug and Dollar channel. The role will interact daily with inventory management and replenishment associates from our customers, as well as Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Transportation, Compliance, and other functions internally. The role will be responsible for owning key service metrics to our customers while leveraging analytics to promote strategic partnerships and collaboration with identified accounts. 10%-20% travel to customer headquarters is expected. The position can be based in Atlanta, GA or Huntersville, NC.
The Associate Manager, Customer Supply Chain position requires foundational understanding of customer replenishment procedures and supply chain topics such as omni-channel replenishment, inventory management, transportation management, forecast/demand planning, and order/product flow. The Associate Manager, Customer Supply Chain will communicate areas for supply chain improvement effectively across the organization to facilitate service improvements, sales growth, profitability gains, productivity savings, cost of failure avoidance and improvements to customer relationships.
The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate effectively with both central and segment functions to develop and continuously improve the route to market journey for our customers and end users. This person is KPI driven, possesses a continuous improvement mindset, and is dedicated to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Interaction – Collaborate with customer inventory teams to drive best in class partnerships. Frequent communication with the customer will be vital to align forecasts, mitigate supply risks, adjust orders, adhere to customer specific metrics, and assortment management. This person will also be the point of contact internally and externally to develop long term perspectives and adherence to goals centered around shipments, instock, On Time, Fill Rate, and other customer defined metrics.
• Replenishment – Responsible for owning customer scorecards and KPIs, as well as internal supply chain metrics, root cause analysis, and identifying inventory trends. Examines the impact of customer inventory strategy on shipments and inventory goals both at the customer and internally and will offer recommendations to continuously optimize customer inventory levels while driving growth.
• Distribution & Transportation – Ownership for distribution & transportation activities and order flow execution with the customer. This person will also identify key improvement opportunities to drive joint value in the end-to-end supply chain.
• Forecasting – Responsible for informing Newell’s S&OP processes by leveraging customer data such as customer forecasts, POS, insights & trends, and in stock data, among others. This person will participate in regular demand reviews and will represent the customer’s point of view in these meetings. Serve as triangulation point of contact for forecast collaboration.
• Reporting – Provide report outs to both central and segment leadership on key customer metrics. The role will also be responsible for providing action plans centered around improvements that may be needed and will be expected to continuously identify areas for improvement to drive joint value.
• Joint Value Creation – This role will be expected to lead regular joint value creation sessions with customers focused on progressing the strategic supply chain partnership. This role will also serve as supply chain representation in customer QBRs among other high-level meetings where supply chain performance will be discussed.
Education, Experience & Skills Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related Business fields is preferred
2+ years’ experience within inventory management, supply chain or logistics
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Execution oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to form and maintain relationships both internally and with the customer
Ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
SAP and Power BI experience a plus
