Newell Brands Associate Manager, Transportation in Atlanta, Georgia
The Procurement Associated Manager is responsible for managing the procurement activities related to the Less Than Truckload (LTL) category. The Procurement Associated Manager will oversee the sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management for the LTL category, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and compliance with the procurement policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Manage the LTL category spend, identify cost savings opportunities, and deliver value to the business
LTL Category approximately $90MM
Develop and execute the LTL category strategy, including market analysis, sourcing plan, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including business units, suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
Monitor and manage the LTL category performance, including service levels, quality, risk, and innovation.
Ensure compliance with the procurement policies and procedures, as well as the relevant laws and regulations.
Provide guidance and coaching to the procurement team members and other staff involved in the LTL category.
Lead and support cross-functional projects and initiatives related to the LTL category.
Study and report on the major events in the industry.
Manage and optimize the Inbound Supplier Program by working with transportation and procurement stakeholders to improve service, visibility and reduce cost.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, preferably in the LTL category.
Strong knowledge of the transportation market, industry trends, best practices, and supplier landscape.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make decisions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and other procurement tools and systems.
