Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist. This role is based in Atlanta, Georgia and involves working within the accounting industry. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be tasked with the responsibility of managing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), as well as performing data entry tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable operations

• Utilize Pro-Contractor and Viewpoint for various accounting tasks

• Ensure the accuracy of high volume payables and receivables

• Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate records

• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary

• Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient accounting system

• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve department goals

• Continuously look for ways to improve accounting processes and procedures

• Assist with other accounting tasks as needed. Requirements • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or related roles.

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Strong skills in Data Entry and performing data entry tasks.

• Demonstrable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Must have professional ethics and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.

• Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation is desired.

• Familiarity with tax preparation and planning is advantageous.
