Ohio University Assistant Women's Swimming Coach in Athens, Ohio

Job Description:

This position reports to the Head Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach. Responsible to the head coach for providing coaching expertise, assisting with the operations, expertise and leadership of the intercollegiate athletics program; assisting in the effective management and administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for student-athletes, and other administrative duties.

Primary accountabilities:

  1. Assist in teaching and coaching student-athletes. Assist in planning and implementing a training program designed for student-athletes to develop and acquire the tactical, technical and physical knowledge required to be a competitive Division I intercollegiate level student-athlete.

  2. Assist in conducting a successful recruiting program to identify and procure outstanding student- athletes to attend Ohio University.

  3. Assist with the administration and operations of the Women’s Swimming team including budget management, equipment purchasing, team travel arrangements, academic monitoring, meet entries and team functions.

  4. Ensure the Women’s Swimming program is in compliance with NCAA , Mid-American Conference and Ohio University regulations.

Candidate must display the highest of ethical standards, recruit qualified student-athletes and display a commitment to their academic success. Working knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and procedures and off campus recruiting certification (or the successful achievement within 2 months) is necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of coaching experience is required. A current and valid USA Swimming coaching certification is required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree and collegiate experience with a Division I program preferred.
