Ohio University Admissions Coordinator in Athens, Ohio
Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Graduate Operations and Student Experience, the Coordinator of Admissions oversees the admissions processes for the School of Nursing ( SON ) Graduate Programs. Duties include managing the multifarious needs, processes, and workflows of five MSN , eight DNP , and six Graduate Certificate programs which recruit/admit multiple times per academic year. This position ensures that applicants receive timely admissions decisions and have a high-quality experience during the admissions phase of their Ohio University lifecycle.
Job Duties include:
Processing the applications at each stage of the application process in graduate application reader system Slate. Position is expected to process an excess of 1,000 applications annually.
Performing the initial screening of each application and noting information within Slate for the faculty review of applications.
Coordinating with internal and external vendors that provide applicant document procurement services.
Evaluating applicant transcripts for transfer credit and bachelor’s degree waivers
Tracking application workflow to ensure timely admission decisions across graduate programs.
Developing and maintaining the admitted, waitlisted, withdrawn, declined, and denied database.
Providing feedback to denied applicants for future admission terms.
Finalizing the admission decision for each applicant to ensure each applicant receives a decision.
Develops and manages a timely interview process for each graduate program which schedules applicant interviews with the selection committee on a weekly basis.
Trains and manages faculty/staff participation in applicant interviews.
Facilitates post-interview discussion with selection committee to render a timely admission decision.
Collects feedback from applicants to continuously improve the interview experience.
Collects, analyses, and reports admissions data to support SON accreditation and rankings needs.
Annually updates the program FAQs and program specific admissions related documents for each SON Graduate Program
Annually updates the School of Nursing SERA status of each graduate program
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
At least three (3) years of related work experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to collaborate with internal and external agencies
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Experience with data management systems
