3rd Shift Grief Clerk (Athens, GA)

JOB PURPOSE:

As a Grief Clerk/Cycle Counter at Caterpillar, Inc., you will count material at line side locations and reconcile with SAP. You will be expected to assist in determining the root cause for any discrepancies found in the count. The position will coordinate with the IRA team in recounts and investigative matters.

JOB DUTIES:

Audit/coordinate location and inventory audits. Perform/coordinate cycle counts. Work directly with Grief Analysts to ensure inventory accuracy of material. Review and reconcile inventory audits and discrepancies. Document and quantify root cause. Provide management staff with process violations to class CACD/CPS standards. Input audit results. Maintain Audit Summary Spreadsheet/Database using Excel. Identify/resolve grief from inventory systems. Generate reports as needed. Perform inventory piece counts, load validations and correct inventory discrepancies as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical requirements:

Must be able to frequently list and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes. Walk, squat, and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes. Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures. Ability to work multiple shifts including nights and weekends as required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have warehouse experience

  • Must have inventory control experience

  • Must have Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office applications

  • Must have Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in SAP software

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry contents weighing up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes (with or without lifting devices)

  • Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures

  • Walk, squat and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Have an understanding of Logistics facility and Excavator/Tractor Product Line

  • Have excellent written and oral communication

  • Intermediate proficiency in functional areas of logistics such as: Inventory Management, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Storeroom Operations and Transportation

  • Ability to lead a diverse group of people

  • Good attendance, excellent customer service focus, and the ability to handle stress and often work at an urgent pace

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, have initiative, good analytical and organizational skills

Additional information: Resumes are encouraged for all applicants. This is a 3rd shift hourly position starting at $15.99/hr plus 5% night shift premium located in Athens, GA. No relocation benefits are available. Candidates must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
