2nd Shift SAP Power User (Athens, GA)



To perform the functions necessary to reconcile all inventory grief, including on-hand overages and underages, supplier discrepancies, operations return grief, receipt grief, shipment errors, posting receipts and creating MTS (or other materials system) tags for all inbound material to the Cat Athens facility. Maintains cooperative team relationships with client stores controllers. Must perform systematic SAP (or other materials system) research based on historical inventory movements to determine appropriate course of action for reconciliation.


For budget purposes and overall program direction, this position will report to the Inventory or Receiving Section Manager and actual work assignments cover all aspects of the facility’s functions as they relate to inventory and receipt control. Operates material handling equipment in a safe manner as needed. Performs random and scheduled inventory and receipt audits as directed, and is accountable for tracking quality metrics and meeting quality goals. Must be able to work independently while promoting cooperative team relationships in day-to-day support of the facility and client’s inventory needs.

Performs various reconciliation functions relating to inventory control and receipt accuracy of Caterpillar on-hand material, supplier discrepancies and shipment errors. Work location is typically a combination of warehouse and office settings.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to occasionally lift and carry contents weighing up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes (with or without lifting devices), work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures, and walk, squat and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have at least one year of warehouse experience

  • Must have Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Must have training experience

  • Must have Advanced proficiency (Can train others) in SAP software.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Have good written and oral communication, as well as customer service skills.

  • A basic understanding of Logistics and Supply Chain operations

  • Intermediate proficiency in functional areas of Logistics such as: Inventory Management, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Storeroom Operations and Transportation.

  • Knowledge of Mach 1 system

  • Excavator/Tractor product line experience

Additional information: Resumes are encouraged for all applicants. This is a 2nd shift hourly position starting at $17.33/hr plus 5% night shift premium located in Athens, GA. No relocation benefits are available.
