Management & Training Corporation Social Studies/Language Arts Instructor in Astoria, Oregon

Starting Rates: $846/wk. with Bachelor's degree

$884/wk. with Master's degree

Schedule: Full-time, M-F 7:45am to 4:30pm

Responsibilities: Instruct and assist students who have a variety of skill levels and learning styles. Develop and prepare lesson plans for class sizes no larger than 18 students.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and current Oregon teaching license or in the process of obtaining one. Computer proficiency. Valid driver’s license w/acceptable record.

THE MOST COMPETITIVE CANDIDATES WILL:

  • Display an aptitude for providing personal, motivational, and academic counseling to youth who may be struggling with academic and employability skills, as well as exhibit strong intervention skills when observing negative behaviors.

  • Thrive on flexibility and variety since class rosters can change regularly due to the open-exit, open-entry nature of Job Corps.

  • Demonstrate above-and-beyond customer service skills.

  • Have knowledge of Google Classroom.

  • Have experience with social studies and language art instruction.
