Your Impact at SAM
Join our dynamic BIM team as a Lidar Scanning Technician, where you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of our projects! In this exciting position, you will travel nationally to diverse client sites, utilizing cutting-edge Lidar-based 3D laser scanning technology to capture and analyze existing field conditions. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering high-quality project data and solutions, making a significant impact on our clients' success.
Work closely with the project manager to ensure the efficient processing of 3D laser scan data, providing critical insights to support project deliverables
Conduct daily field data capture and preprocessing of 3D Lidar data, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Provide office staff with notes on field data that was acquired
Travel nationally to job sites up to 100% of the time
The typical travel schedule is 2 weeks on, 1 week off with the opportunity to spend weekends at home. This is subject to change depending on the project.
Collaborate with the project manager to tackle complex challenges and develop innovative solutions
Demonstrate SAM'svision and mission, while successfully performing its core values related to employees, ethics, operational excellence, safety, integrity and corporate social responsibility
Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish SAM's strategic goals
What You Bring to SAM
1-3+ years of laser scanning experience is preferred
Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude
Experience with 3D laser scanning technology - Leica, FARO, Trimble, NavVis
Experience with Revit or AutoCAD is a plus but not required
Ability to interpret and understand 2D floor plans effectively
Proficient in technical field skills
Ability to communicate existing field conditions
Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills
