Shell Fabric Maintenance Integrator in Assen, Netherlands

What’s the role?

The Fabric Maintenance Integrator provides technical discipline expertise and leadership to deliver cost-effective implementation of the maintenance strategy for external coating and insulation on upstream facilities operated by the NAM in the Netherlands. The role focusses on safeguarding the external integrity of piping, equipment and structures in the ONEgas East and Onshore Assets.

The holder of this position is a key member of the agile Fabric Maintenance (FM) self-managed team, focuses on integrating the Coating and insulation requirements from the Materials & Corrosion, Inspection, Offshore Structures and Pipeline engineering disciplines, delivering fit for purpose scopes aligned with key Asset and external stakeholders. The role also ensures transparent visibility of fabric condition through inspections, database management and assured QA/QC of fabric contractor works.

Key responsibilities:

  • Focus on Goal Zero - establish and maintain a high standard towards Personal and Process safety as well as other HSSE & Shell Business Principles, Site Management Systems and compliances required to work in a fully operational plant

  • Responsible for the key results of the Fabric Maintenance agile squad for ONEgas East (offshore platforms and Den Helder Plant) and Onshore facilities aligned with Asset objectives

  • Manage scope definition and prioritisation in alignment with Inspection, Offshore Structures, Pipelines, Maintenance execution and frontline teams onshore and offshore. Ensure optimum execution approaches are considered in the scope - in line with the FM strategy

  • Manage efficient scope conversion into SAP notifications as per defined scopes

  • Support Maintenance teams with 1 - 3 year lookahead, input on budget requirements and to execute FM scope

  • Act as Shell representative providing coating quality assurance and control as per Shell standards. This requires travel to offshore and onshore facilities for short trips on regular basis. Delegate this task to company or third-party coating inspectors - where appropriate

  • Coordinate coating inspection program and ensure that the Fabric Maintenance database is maintained up to date

  • Actively pursue new technologies driving higher execution efficiency, fit for purpose protection and increased durability in line with facility remaining life

What we need from you

  • Extensive professional experience in coating and insulation maintenance management for onshore and offshore facilities

  • Coating inspector NACE/ICORR level 1 as minimum qualification. NACE level 2 is preferred

  • Experience integrating painting scopes for structures and pressurized piping/equipment for optimal execution efficiency

  • Knowledge of corrosion, pressure equipment integrity, structural integrity and risk-based scoping

  • Familiar with general integrity threat assessment, degradation modes, selecting appropriate inspection and maintenance technology

  • Skill in Dutch regulations, codes and (international) standards affecting civil/offshore infrastructure is a plus

  • Ability to lead and drive improvement initiatives across cross functional teams including different cultures and geographical areas

  • Preferably fluent in Dutch language
