Be a True Builder®.The Layout Engineer is primarily responsible for the complete and accurate layout of all building components at the assigned project site. On smaller sites, this position will refer to the Senior Layout Engineer or the projects VDC for design points and lines for layout.YOUR DAY-TO-DAY: (Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.)Perform extensive layout work competently, accurately, and efficiently in accordance with project specific plans and as developed by the project Superintendent, Layout Manager, and Senior Layout Engineer.Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications.Ensure that all building control points and bench marks are accurate and maintained.Ensure that all building components are in the precise locations.Assist in evaluation and solution of potential field problems.Identify and flag dimensional and/or diagrammatical conflicts in the structural, architectural, mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications.Coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities as required by the contract.Assist Project Superintendent by enforcing quality control, checks and documentation as related to layout.Assist Senior Layout Engineer with updating drawings with changes as issued by the design team.Contribute to the layout management of job activities in accordance with Robins & Morton’s policies and procedures and within the bounds of the project contract.Maintain a working relationship with the project subcontractors.As required, maintain daily logs to document all jobsite layout activities as well as provide those logs to the Layout Manager or Senior Layout Engineer assigned to the project.WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:(Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.)Two year education beyond high school or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.Minimum of five years concrete construction line and grade experience or related construction experience and/or training. Two of those years must have been spent as a rodman in laying out concrete construction work, three of those years of experience must have been spent laying out concrete construction workAbility to read, analyzes, and interpret contract documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.OSHA 30 Hour certification preferred.
