Position Summary

As the Training Lead/Specialist, you are responsible for implementing industry-leading training programs for our growing facility by assessing current training and development systems, developing new training programs, implementing measurement tools, and providing feedback. You may also be required to conduct research to identify specific staff training needs.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in training methodologies and demonstrate superior teamwork abilities

  • Assess the training and development needs of production and maintenance colleagues, including training gaps

  • Recommend/design tools that will help support productivity and overall job performance and engagement.

  • Assist with visual factory and standard work development

  • Assist in creating a budget for all training and development initiatives for the plant. Determine what is needed to help the team achieve key milestones

  • Establish training matrixes for all colleagues/positions and evaluate results

  • Audit existing teaching materials and course aids and update them as required looking for opportunities to digitize processes and content

  • Establish a new hire onboarding and colleague cross-training process

  • Manage training content from SME’s and oversee the preparation of new teaching materials and curriculums within a learning management system

  • Establish a Train the Trainer program for all key areas

  • Assign trainers and educators to specific programs, provide them with the necessary training, and supervise their activities to ensure flawless implementation of all learning initiatives

  • Define, monitor, and track key performance indicators/metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and prepare reports for senior management

  • Drive leadership education on adult learning principles and leveraging strategic training initiatives

  • Act as a change agent by promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Develop and design immediate and long-term training evaluation tools to verify knowledge transfer and practical skills application

  • Collaborate with plant leadership to create and commit to an annual training strategy

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education, Business Administration, or any related field

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a training role (preferably in manufacturing industry)

  • Knowledge of different training methods and learning theories

  • Learning management system experience

  • In-depth knowledge of staff learning and assessment protocol

  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical skills, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Outstanding knowledge of learning theories and training methodologies

  • Passion for teaching and public speaking

  • Strong teamwork abilities
