Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Electrical and Mechanical

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting and a solid mechanical knowledge. This role involves working in a highly automated manufacturing facility with high-speed, high-precision rotary equipment. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to permanently solve issues rather than providing temporary fixes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a combination of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Work on automated machinery and around tight tolerances.

  • Handle 480V electrical systems and work with single and three-phase motors/drives.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics, including European Standards.

  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting and work with PLC control systems.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to OSHA safety disciplines and applicable codes and standards (NEC).

  • Provide permanent solutions to recurring technical problems.

  • Work on high-speed manufacturing equipment and conveyors.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Electrical troubleshooting and PLC experience.

  • Ability to read and understand ladder logic programs.

  • Experience with single and three-phase motors/drives.

  • Competence in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.

  • Skilled tradesperson experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Knowledgeable in safety disciplines stipulated by OSHA.

  • Understanding of NEC codes and standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or proof of GED is required.

  • Associates degrees are preferred, but licenses, certifications, or verifiable training are also accepted.

  • High-speed manufacturing experience is essential.

  • Base PLC experience (inputs/outputs).

  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E and National Electrical Code.

  • Knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls, PLCs, VFDs.

Work Environment

Large climate-controlled facility with roughly 16 acres of space under the roof. This position will start with training on the day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) for the first month or so, then move to a 12-hour night shift (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM) on a 2-2-3 schedule. The schedule includes an extra day during the short week, averaging 48 hours per week. PPE such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and uniforms are required and provided. Personal tools need to be brought on the first day, but specialty tools and measurement tools will be provided.
