Intrepid Solutions and Services Senior AV Installation Engineer in Ashburn, Virginia

Overview

Intrepid Solutions is seeking a Senior AV Installation Engineer to join our Engineering and Integration (E&I) Team comprised of AV programmers, designers, engineers, and integration specialists. Our Installation Engineer is headquartered at our Ashburn VA facility and will support the new AV installation projects which occur at our customer sites within the National Capital Region.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and expertise during the design, build, programming, integration, and testing phases of work which are executed to deliver new AV capabilities to our customers.

  • Serve as an E&I Team Lead (Task Order Lead) who supports our growing pipeline of new AV installations which are release as new Task Orders.

  • Work directly with the E&I Director, the E&I Team Lead, and the Program Manager to plan, schedule, execute, and deliver new AV builds to our customer.

  • Work directly with the E&I Team Lead to create the plan for each Task Order which includes the resource management plan, the equipment delivery plan, and the phases of design (Phase 2) and onsite installation and integration (Phase 3).

  • Assemble and lead a team of AV designers, programmers, and integrators through the phases of work necessary to build, test, and delivery new AV capabilities to our customers.

  • Manage the team through their phases of work which are typically scheduled over a 12-month Period of Performance. Provide weekly updates on project status to the E&I Director and E&I Team Lead throughout the conduct of phased work.

  • Work with the Program Manager and the customer representatives to devise a Phase 3 onsite delivery and installation schedule.

  • Using E&I resources, build a team for the Phase 3 onsite installation process and manage the team throughout the execution of their work.

  • Work directly with our Procurement Manager during the procurement phase (Phase 1) to ensure all required equipment and integration supplies are identified, documented, ordered, and delivered in time to support the project’s schedule.

  • Assist with shaping and refining future growth opportunities using a balanced background in AV design, integration, programming, and maintenance.

  • Assist with customer training and user familiarization of the new AV systems and components being delivered.

  • Collaborate with our program’s O&M Team to ensure they also receive training on the new components and systems being installed.

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: This is a full-time position that operates primarily onsite unless otherwise indicated by, and at the discretion of, the Program Manager and customer. Work will occur between the operating hours of 0600 and 1800.

TRAVEL: This position is headquartered at our primary facility located in Ashburn, VA. A flexible work schedule (mix of HQ, customer site, and remote) can be created with the E&I Team Lead to support efforts across all phases of work to help balance the flow of work. The E&I team performs Phase 1 and Phase 2 work at our Ashburn VA facility. Phase 3 work occurs at the customer sites. All customer sites are located within the National Capital Region. Phase 3 schedules will be planned and managed by the E&I Team Lead with support of the Senior AV Intallation Engineer (this position) and the Program Manager.

Qualifications

CLEARANCE:

  • Active Top Secret clearance is required at the time of application, with the ability to aquire an SCI and CI Poly to complete work on client site.

*This position is not open for any additional clearance upgrades outside of the SCI and CI Poly, to include reactivation, or sponsorship. *

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics or a related field; OR, completion of an apprenticeship program; OR, equivalent years of work-related experience.

CERTIFICATION(S): One or more of the following certifications is preferred, all listed certifications below are considered desired:

  • Programming and/or design certifications for AMX

  • Programming and/or design certifications for Crestron

  • Certified Broadcast Networking Engineer (CBNE)

  • Certified Technology Specialist-Designer (CTS-D)

  • Cisco Network Administrator (CNA), or equivalent

  • ICIA CTS audiovisual systems training/certification

  • Crestron certifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of experience in the field of AV Engineering, Design, Programming, and lifecycle maintenance with exceptional working knowledge of AV systems and related platforms.

  • 10 years of experience working as a member of an AV design, integration, and installation team.

  • 5 years of experience managing and leading a team through various phases of new AV installations and builds.

  • Extensive knowledge of standard AV and communication software to include but not be limited to AMX, Crestron,Extron, Biamp, and VBrick.

  • Experience assisting with the design of AV systems to meet specific customer needs and requirements ranging from simple/small spaces and systems to large/complex systems.

  • Experience working within sensitive customer spaces and controlled/secure spaces.

  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for AV systems.

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Strong interpersonal/leadership skills which foster teamwork, pride in work, and a focus on meeting the needs of our customers.

The actual salary offered may vary based on various factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, education, geographic location, as well as internal equity, and alignment to market data.

Job Type: Full-time (onsite)

Pay Range: $135,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
