NANA Regional Corporation Junior Operations Engineer - Windows (Remote) in Ashburn, Virginia
North Edge Technology, an AKIMA Company, is looking for a junior-level Operations Engineer to support a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) prime contract that provides comprehensive support services for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to include planning, building, testing, deployment, stabilization of workstation changes, software distribution, patch management, service management, and program and administrative management related tasks.

Responsibilities
Assists in providing operations and maintenance support of the configuration management, patch management, application deployment and device imaging of Windows-based solutions.
Provides operations and maintenance support of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) infrastructure, patching, and updates to include troubleshooting issues when they arise.
Experience supporting common applications as well as third party applications running on Windows such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Sign for Government, and Microsoft 365 Apps.
Experience providing customer support to clients at all levels within an organization including VIP and Senior Executive leadership
Performs administration and systems management functions to maintain stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of system architecture.
Assists in the testing and integration of workstation changes.
Implements security and compliance features.
Assists in the preparation of daily system health reports.
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a favorable CBP suitability determination.
Work Locations: Remote opportunity (however, preference is that someone reside in the VA metro area in case the occasional on-site meeting is needed).
Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in administering and managing information technology systems ( a focus on Windows-based end user devices and systems within Windows OS environments is preferred).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology (additional 5+ years of hands-on relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree).
Strong understanding of Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
Experience utilizing and maintaining enterprise management systems such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Active Directory, MS Entra ID and Intune.
Experience performing troubleshooting with technicians and/or end users utilizing Service Now ticketing system.
Demonstrated experience with configuration of Windows desktop operating systems and management thereof with Active Directory Group Policy and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
Experience implementing/troubleshooting Browser Extensions, Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Group Policy Preferences (GPPs)
Exposure to Cloud Endpoint Management (MS Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, etc.).
Exposure to Applications (M365 Apps, Adobe Creative Cloud, Beyond Trust, etc.).
Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager Task Sequences (or similar product) for the purposes of performing Operating System Deployments (OSD) or building deployments requiring multiple steps.
Ability to troubleshoot application installations and end user issues pertaining to usage of various desktop applications (Edge, Google Chrome, Java, Corretto, Adobe, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and thorough documentation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills and written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to balance responsibilities among assigned activities; including the ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, and adaptability to varying customer needs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Requirements:
- A relevant professional certification such as Microsoft 365 Certified Fundamentals, Security+ or equivalent certification is preferred.
Pay Range
$70,000 - $80,000
