Have you ever thought about helping scale technical talent on innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems for our mission critical customers? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technology content? The AWS Intelligence team is seeking a talented technical training specialist with a diverse engagement background, to lead the development of scaling technical training and onboarding program for Amazon Dedicated Cloud regions.

The program is built for onboarding, training and up-skilling technical engineers to provide the opportunity of deep technical training, including rotational hands-on exposure and working side by side with top AWS Engineers across many of AWS’ most popular products. A creator who would be interested in the opportunity to work with some of the best and brightest engineers and technical leaders, to build critical internal training for engineers supporting mission critical customers.

This team is responsible for creating and supporting content for training programs with the learner in mind, creating and delivering mechanism to scale the program and documentation, managing training logistics and tools, and implementing and maintaining robust measurement to continuously improve the effectiveness of onboarding. This person will have to consistently innovate and improve the output from new and existing tools and operating procedures to organize the expansion of an ever growing global program. This person will also have the opportunity to redefine the entire learning journey of the Engineers that join AWS Intelligence Initiative program.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develops technical training content to be used across AWS technical teams

  • Manages and develops highly complex training programs/projects which are business critical

  • Maintain technical training materials throughout program updates, process changes, and product life-cycle mechanisms. Own the Training Change Management end to end process to ensure parity across all relevant training material.

  • Develop learning profiles and delivering content via eLearning, video, virtual online training, tool kits, study guides, and support aids

  • Work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

  • Collaborate and build relationships with technical business owners globally to ensure process excellence and the highest degree of controllership.

  • Coordinate, plan, deliver and facilitate training such as new hire, continuing education, launch training for new services, and other specific training as needed.

  • Identify knowledge gaps through observations, focus groups, quality checks, and data analyses and propose specific training topics based on findings.

  • Monitor, track and report on training completion metrics.

  • Assist with development and validation of training materials, learner engagement strategies and evaluation plans.

  • Conduct targeted coaching as a part of training sessions and communicate opportunities to the AI2 Leadership team to ensure continuous support to employees outside of the training.

  • Model “Learn and Be Curious” by rapidly learning about new products/services and processes as needed.

  • Continuously act as an advocate and evangelist of Amazon Voice and culture.

  • Remain Customer obsessed, and provide the best possible training/learning experience to the AI2 employees.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience developing technical training across computer engineer, operations engineering, or software engineering skill set

  • 7+ years experience in technical Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or Learning Technology

  • 7+ Experience working across multiple cross functional teams to deliver, effective communication and understanding of technical concepts

  • 5+ years experience using eLearning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier Pro, Vyond, and Captivate and other video editing and graphic design software

  • 5+ years experience using eLearning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier Pro, Vyond, and Captivate and other video editing and graphic design software

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong command of grammar, punctuation and style

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working across global projects

  • Experience developing programs supporting large populations of frontline employees
